**Job Description**:
We are now looking for a Working Student - Carbon Data Operations to join our Science and Data Team.

In this role, you will support our Science and Data Team by identifying reliable and relevant data sources and methodologies, ingressing data, and reviewing data additions. You’ll use your knowledge and skills to maintain and expand our Emission Factors Database (EFDB). We are looking for driven individuals with a passion for data and climate science. Ideally you are enrolled in a master’s program related to climate science, environmental science, LCA or something similar.

**Responsibilities**:

- Working closely with the Science and Data team on various tasks, including maintaining the Emission Factors Database (EFDB), collecting and normalizing new data points, researching and analyzing new and existing sources of data
- Determining gaps in our database and finding emission factors from reliable sources for goods, materials and activities to expand our EFDB
- Validating, preparing, and labeling data for ingression and supporting the review process
- Mapping client data to our database’s emission factors
- Automating data pipelines for faster future ingression

**Qualifications**:

- You are an enrolled student, ideally in a master’s program related to climate science, environmental Science, LCA or something similar
- Data literacy: you are comfortable working with different data formats and sizes. Ideally you have some knowledge of python (pandas, numpy libraries) to be able to read/execute scripts, and are proficient with Google Sheets.
- Comfortable with GitHub-based collaborative workflows
- Familiarity with carbon footprinting methodologies, GHG emissions accounting, LCA framework, climate policy and science around
- Understanding of how different sectors (i.e. energy, transportation, buildings, water etc.) contribute to global emissions
- Basic understanding of carbon accounting
- Ability to do literature review and scientific research
- Great attention to detail is essential
- Proactive, passionate and curious about solving big and complex problems. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Fluent in English

- Location: Berlin (remote friendly, but requires physical presence in Berlin from time to time)
- Starting date: as soon as possible
- Hours: 20hrs per week, flexible working hours
