Supervisory Recreation Specialist Nf-03

**Duties**:

- Supervises a staff of 3-12 employees, assigns and reviews work assignments on a daily, weekly, or longer basis.
- Plans work schedules, approves or disapproves leave, determines performance objectives and rates performance.
- Works in executing recreation events, programs and services to meet the recreational needs of a diverse patronage, including a variety of multi disciplinary events
- Recommends items of supplies, materials, prizes, decorations, refreshments, and equipment needed for program functions.
- Assists with training new personnel. Assures that proper security measures are taken to safeguard monies, property, equipment and facility.

- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, and favorable completion of a Tier 1 background investigation is required.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.

**Qualifications**:

- 1. Must have knowledge of wide range of recreation and sports activities, organization and structure of military units and installation sports program objectives, policies, methods and procedures to plan, organize, and coordinate activities, assist, guide and motivate military staff in carrying out their responsibilities.
- 2. Must have basic understanding of budget and supply functions in order to prepare input and justification of funding for supplies and equipment.
- 3. Must have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing (English).
- 4. Work experience or education directly related to the duties to be performed.
- **Best Qualifying Criteria**
1. At least two years experience as a supervisor or lead in a recreation operation
- 2. At least two years experience with recreation point of sales systems
- 3. Associates Degree or higher in Fine Arts or comparable degree.

**Education**:
College or university transcript(s)(copy or original) must be submitted with your resume to determine qualifications for positions with positive education requirements.

Foreign Education: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.

**PCS Costs**
- Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.

**Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differential**s
- This is a pay-banded position.
- Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. **_If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay._** When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday).
- Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. When authorized, night differential will be paid at the rate of 10% basic rate for hours of non-overtime work performed between 1800-0600.

**Incentives and Bonuses**
- Incentives will not be paid.

**Foreign Overseas Allowances**
- Foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
