Abiomed is recruiting for a Director, Data & Analytics Platform, Heart Recovery (M/F/d) Location: Aachen Germany or Danvers MA. Reports To: Chief Information Officer (CIO) We are seeking an experienced Data & Analytics Director to lead and drive the data strategy for our organization. This role will be responsible for overseeing data governance, management, analytics, innovation, and infrastructure to ensure that data is treated as a strategic asset. This role will work closely with executive leadership to align data initiatives with business objectives, foster a data-driven culture, and ensure compliance with data regulations. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and execute a comprehensive data strategy aligned with the company’s overall business goals and objectives. - Establish and enforce data governance frameworks to ensure data quality, integrity, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements. - Oversee the development and management of data infrastructure, including data platforms, databases, and data pipelines to support business needs. - Drive data innovation and analytics initiatives to uncover business insights, support decision-making, and foster a data-driven culture across the organization. - Partner with all functions to identify data needs and opportunities, ensuring data is utilized effectively to drive operational improvements and business growth. - Lead and mentor a high-performing team of data professionals. - Monitor and adopt emerging data technologies, trends, and industry best practices to continually improve the organization's data capabilities and keep it competitive. - Ensure robust data security and privacy measures are in place to protect sensitive information, complying with legal and regulatory standards, and managing data risk. **Qualifications**: - Based in Aachen, Germany (preferred) or Danvers, MA. Relocation support available. Minimum of 3 days per week onsite. - A minimum of 20 years of experience in the Data & Analytics field, with a proven track record of repeated success. - At least 10 years as a Director in a large enterprise. - In-depth knowledge of data governance, analytics, data management technologies, and processes. - Strong leadership capabilities with excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. - Extensive experience with data privacy regulations and compliance requirements. - A highly proactive, independent individual, with a demonstrated ability to take end-to-end ownership of the space. - Master's degree in a relevant field. - Fluent in English and at least basic proficiency in German. - Available for 30% international travel.
