In cooperation with the Chair for Laser Technology at RWTH LLT, the Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology ILT, Europe's leading center for contract research and development in the field of laser technology, is offering the opportunity to write a thesis in the ‘Laser Powder Bed Fusion’ department on surface technology and shape ablation.

**What you will do**
- You will familiarise yourself with the topic of ‘Processing transparent materials with USP laser radiation’
- You will independently plan and carry out experiments on the SLE laser processing system
- You measure the transmission with the help of an integrating sphere
- Voltage measurement with the help of polarisation contrast microscopy is part of your area of responsibility
- You analyse, interpret and prepare the results

- You are studying physics or a comparable degree programme
- You are motivated to familiarise yourself with a challenging topic and independently develop solutions to potential problems
