Custodial Worker Na-01

**Duties**:

- Cleans rooms, corridors, stairways, and common areas. Sweeps, mops, vacuums, scrubs, strips and polishes using brooms, mops, lightweight equipment such as vacuum cleaners and lightweight floor scrubbers, waxers, and buffers.
- Dusts waxes and polishes furniture and fixtures. Cleans, disinfects and deodorizes bathroom and toilet facilities. Empties trash. Make beds and changes linen.
- Washes mirrors, walls, windows, and blinds. Provides and replenishes toiletries and room condiments. Notes condition of room and report any conditions requiring maintenance or repair.
- Maintains stock of room and cleaning supplies and condiments to perform assigned duties.

- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- This position may require a health screening. Immunizations may be required as a condition of employment for the health and safety of those in the facility.
- Must be able to work rotating shift, to include evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs.

**Qualifications**:

- Applicant must be able to follow simple oral instructions and use hand or light weight powered cleaning tools and equipment as described which generally require no prior training or previous work experience.

SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE:
Must have the ability to follow instructions and read signs.
Must have a basic knowledge of common cleaning solvents,cleaning tools, and equipment.
Must be able to remove different kinds of stains from a wide variety of surfaces.
Must be able to troubleshoot, make adjustments, and perform minor repair and maintenance of equipment.

**PCS Costs**
- Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.

**FWS Allowances and Differentials**
- All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee.
- Regular full-time, regular part-time (to include those in a limited tenure appointment category) and regularly scheduled flexible employees are entitled to Sunday premium pay when working Sunday shifts. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 7.5% for the entire shift when a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 1500 and 2400. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 10% of the scheduled rate if a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 2300-0800.
