**About us**:
Peter Park digitalizes parking lots. Our mission is to replace every physical barrier with modern computer vision technology, paper-based receipts with big touch screen terminals, your smartphone, and cloud microservices. Our goal is to integrate every parking lot into the digital mobility ecosystem of the current generation and offer a range of secondary services to make better use of the limited parking capacities.

Right now, we at Peter Park run over 500 edge devices in three different countries that handle thousands of parking and payment transactions per hour. Peter Park's physical infrastructure relies on distributed, python based backend services on AWS. As a Working Student in Data Science you will be part of the backend and DevOps team that maintains, optimizes and is involved in every new feature that we roll out to our users and customers.

**Our Objectives and your Role**:

- Conduct data analysis and modeling with ML algorithms
- Take charge for our revenue funnel analytics
- Use Redash and Retool to build powerful analytics visualizations
- Assist people in understanding our data-model
- Be part of completely reengineering the data-model for the future
- Automate reporting workflows with Make/Zapier

**Who are we looking for?**:

- You know how to work with PostgreSQL
- You have experience in PyTorch/TensorFlow for all other machine learning frameworks
- You are characterized by an experienced handling of databases
- Bonus: You have skills in Node.js, Flask, AWS
- You take ownership for the code you write
- You demonstrate a structured and independent way of working
- Strong written and spoken English (level C1). German is not required

**What we work with**:

- Frontend written in Vue.js
- Backends in Python using the Flask Web Framework and NestJS following a microservice architecture
- Amazon RDS/DynamoDB and S3 for data persistence
- Amazon SQS
- Serverless Framework for high throughput services
- Kubernetes for container orchestration and GitLab CI/CD
- Infrastructure on AWS provisioned using Terraform

**Work Setup**:

- Starting immediately, 15-20h per week (trust basis)
- Work location: Munich
- at least 1 day per week on site (hybrid)
- Team: 15 Colleagues
