**Senior Scientist Biology & Assays (all genders)**

Do you have a strong enthusiasm for advancing biological assay development and contributing to innovative drug discovery? Bayer Pharmaceuticals in Wuppertal is looking for a **Senior Scientist (all genders)** to enhance the **Biology & Assays** team within **Drug Discovery Science**. In this position, you will be responsible for designing and implementing advanced biological and biochemical assays to drive early-stage research projects forward. **YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- You focus on drug discovery projects, actively contributing as a member of highly interdisciplinary and cross-organizational teams
- You design, coordinate, and execute cellular and biochemical assays to support early-stage drug discovery to probe target biology
- You drive the scientific progress of research projects, ensuring innovative and high-quality experimental approaches to understand target-modality relationships, identify tailored lead-finding approaches
- You contribute to the “fail early, fail fast” concept by critically evaluating and optimizing experimental strategies
- You collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams, integrating findings to accelerate pipeline progression
- You document and interpret experimental data, preparing reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
- You ensure that all research activities comply with scientific and regulatory standards
- You actively engage in knowledge sharing within the team and across departments
- You stay at the cutting edge of scientific developments, integrating novel methodologies into research projects

**WHO YOU ARE**
- You hold a PhD in biology, biochemistry, or a related field, with knowledge in oncology and cardiovascular disease biology
- You have experience with complex cellular models (e.g. iPSCs, cardiomyocytes, 3D cultures) and high-throughput formats for drug discovery
- You have proficiency in relevant software and analytical tools used in assay development
- You possess experience in project organization and management with a strong attention to detail
- You are skilled in scientific writing, data interpretation, and presentation and demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills and a high-level of self-motivation
- You excel in working in an interdisciplinary research environment and thrive in collaborative settings
- Your fluent English (spoken and written) rounds off your profile

**_This is a fixed-term position for 24 months._**
