DESCRIPTION
Decypher is seeking a Systems Administration Support Services Associate to support George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies (GCMC) Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides Systems Administrator support for the GCMC domain, and is responsible for the daily operation, troubleshooting, restoration, configuration, installation, and security of the Government-provided servers, and associated devices to maximize uptime at 99% availability or higher during core business hours.
- Installs new and rebuilds existing Windows servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, and access permissions in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements and in coordination with the COR and/or Government Systems Administration Team Lead.
- Performs backup operations, ensuring all required storage area network (SAN) file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary in accordance with documented SOPs.
- Applies Operating System patches and upgrades for Servers in coordination with Information Assurance. Additionally, the Contractor upgrades administrative tools and utilities, and configure or add new services as necessary to meet Information Assurance requirements.
- Assists to develop, modify, and maintain operational, configuration, or other standard operational procedures that pertain to the operations and upkeep of the server architecture.
- Provides metrics for capacity management purposes upon request, and performs ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required to maximize asset utilization to meet mission needs.
- Must be proficient in managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting a mid-sized virtual (VMware & vSphere) environment to include, but not limited to, performing periodic backups, upgrades, and virtual server installation.
- Provides administrative, back-end support to GCMC Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and HCL BigFix to ensure high-availability for on-demand deployment of critical patches and security settings.
- Physically deploys, relocates and/or replaces IT equipment. This may require an individual Contractor to lift equipment up to 50 pounds.
**Requirements**:
- IAT II Security+ Certification
- 3 years system administration experience
Pay: 24,784.45€ - 61,330.58€ per year
