As a digital media designer for Church digital channels, you are a visual storyteller who uses creativity and design skills to create images, animate videos, design motion graphics; and develop other content.

As a team member in the Publishing Services Department, you will produce digital content for a wide range of audiences in multiple channels, including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, the Gospel Library App, Gospel Living App, Gospel for Kids, and other digital platforms. Your work will require you to work well both as a team member and independently, while being responsive to guidance and feedback provided from both peers and leaders. You will also be expected to continually improve the processes you use to produce your work and contribute creatively to multiple capacities. You will be responsible for ensuring that the digital media you produce is properly licensed and vetted by the Church’s Visual Identity Office.
- Work proficiently in Adobe Creative Cloud Apps (AI, PS, ID, Premier, After Effects, etc.).
- Skills in video, animation, and motion graphics.
- Organize, track, and manage multiple assignments and work in progress.
- Work with mínimal oversight and show independent judgment and initiative.
- Understand and exhibit knowledge of sound design principles and processes.
- As assigned, help develop content concepts, and messaging experiences that solve the communication objectives specified.
- Receive design guidance and feedback and deliver designs that follow brand guidelines.
- Multitask and manage simultaneous projects and meet tight deadlines, keeping up with design assignments for multiple channels in a fast-paced work environment.
- Collaborate with peers across the Church Magazines team and other departments to improve cross-functional workflows, processes, and results.
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in digital media, social media, visual communications, orographic design (or comparable skills and training).
- Minimum six years of experience, demonstrated by a professional portfolio.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Critical visual thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Team orientation with high standards and performance that inspires excellence in others.
- Demonstratable high-level of creativity and the ability to sustain the production of a steady flow of fresh ideas.
- Solid understanding of Church doctrine and policies.
- Demonstrated ability to work with and present to executives.
- Knowledge of CSS, HTML5, and XML will be a plus.
