**About the role**

A&M's **Private Equity Performance Improvement** (PEPI) practice focuses on serving upper middle market and large cap private equity firms who have engaged A&M to diligence potential acquisition targets in pre-deal situations as well as help improve operating results at their portfolio companies. Our area of expertise is integrated pre-deal due diligence assistance and supporting performing companies to deliver a growth strategy as well as supporting under-performing assets with a need to reorganize or take costs out. Working directly with shareholders and company management, A&M helps stabilize financial and operational performance by developing and implementing comprehensive profitability and working capital improvement measures.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Identifying and validating performance improvement initiatives; creating implementation plans and leading implementation of initiatives alongside company management
- Identify information gaps through client interviews, trend analysis and pattern recognition
- Investigate beyond the first logical answer and challenge preconceived beliefs with fact-based analytics
- Develop storyline messages using supporting facts and analyses, ensure data and branding standards flows accurately and consistently throughout the presentation
- Review and provide inputs to all work products, and ensure that all client deliverables are presented logically and accurately
- Managing work streams, including leading/mentoring junior A&M colleagues and client staff & owning key business processes to solve client’s problems
- Promote a team environment where diverse ideas and opinions are encouraged
- Working closely with A&M’s European partnership group across Private Equity Performance Improvement to develop client focused go to market propositions, solutions, pitches and proposals
- Set reasonable timelines/expectations and align such with client
- Managing diverse, complex and conflicting stakeholder groups
- Build strong, trusted, long term relationships with clients in Germany and across Europe through the delivery of value-added client engagements

**Skills and Experience**
- Master’s degree from an accredited university is essential
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to build complex integrated three statements financial models
- Ability to understand the impacts of transformation initiatives to P&L, balance sheet and cash flow
- Experience with Cash / liquidity programs including cash forecasts (13 week cash flow forecasts)
- Financial analysis and delivery of SG&A and cost reduction programs
- Ideally experience in accounting and related financial processes
- Relevant experience in the industry in a finance department in the industry or service sector, ideally with first experience in a managing function such as head of finance / head of accounting
- Good understanding of PowerBI
- Fluency to a native level in both written and verbal English and German is essential
