**Scope of Role**:
Reporting to the Sector Director, Operations Manager this person is responsible for all aspects of health and safety as it relates a scope of work with an approximate value of €xxxx within the Sector. Working in conjunction with the other EHS Lead’s / EHS Sector Managers within the Mercury Group this person will set clear direction and expectations for the Mercury personnel on and off site. This core management team will create the vision; provide leadership; set targets; create processes and procedures

This person will manage the H&S department within the Sector & work closely with Head Office EHS Support Management to ensure a consistent approach to EHS standards is achieved across the Specific Sector & in line with Group EHS Expectations.

**Key Responsibilities of the Role**:

- Implementation, Compliance & Management of the Mercury Engineering Safety Management system across the Sector - Consistent approach across all projects.
- Implementation, Compliance & Management of relevant Environmental, Health & Safety statutory provisions & legislation in the different regions the Sector operates.
- Implementation, Compliance & Management of Mercury Engineering & PSCS / Main Contractor Environmental, Health & Safety Plans.
- Coordination in the development of task specific Method statements, risk assessments, safe plan of action, permit to work systems across all Sector projects.
- Implementation, Compliance & Management the project specific execution plan. Sector EHS Manager to ensure all EHS plans are project specific, Issued to all relevant parties & reviewed regularly with the project manager, EHS Lead & BU Manager.
- Coordination, Implementation, Compliance & Management of project safety indicators.
- Implementation, Compliance & Management of Good Safety Practices ensuring they are managed & maintained consistently across all regions.
- Implementation, Compliance & Management of Ongoing C.O.S.H.H assessments, control of hazardous substances.
- Involvement in onboarding & management of all subcontractors working within the sector, including the auditing of contractors on a regular basis
- Issuing NCR’s to subcontractors that are in contravention on Mercury EHS policy or projects EHS procedures.
- Ensuring that safety interventions are completed & registered by the project EHS team with results / findings issued to Sector Director & Group EHS Dept.
- Carry out regular site audits and inspection, document results and follow up on any corrective actions with Sector Director & Group EHS Dept.
- Audit Expectations of BU EHS Advisor When working on a Mercury project.
- #01 Compliance Audit Per Week
- #01 - SMBWA on BIM 360 per project visited per week.
- Safe Plan of Action - As Necessary
- Ensure #01 Environmental Audit Per Month per project has been completed
- Ensure #01 Fire & Emergency Evacuation Audit Per Month per project has been completed
- High Risk Activity(HRA) Audits as the projects require
- Regular Subcontractor Audits - As the Sector requires.
- Ensure #01 Quarterly Audit Per Project Per Quarter is completed on BIM 360 - Review with EHS Sector Manager & Project PM
- Ensure Implementation, Compliance & Management of a Proactive approach to project / client EHS requirements.
- Issue Quarterly audits to Operations Director, SBU Manager, Project Manager, Grp EHS Manager when completed & reviewed.
- Ensure project sub-contractors adhere to project & group EHS policies & procedures as per their contractual agreement.
- Ensure that Mercury Engineering induction & training is coordinated, managed & maintained by the respective EHS project teams in line with Mercury requirements.
- Compile & Issue Toolbox talks, Safety Campaigns as necessary across your sector.
- Lead the specific project team in carrying out accident investigation reports in a timely manner & ensure communication to Mercury Engineering Senior Management.
