The Electron Microscopy Core Facility at Heidelberg University is looking for a:
**Technical Assistant (f/m/d)**

The Electron Microscopy Core Facility (EMCF) at Heidelberg University provides expertise in electron microscopy to all researchers on campus. The Core Facility develops appropriate sample preparations and imaging techniques to address various scientific questions regarding ultrastructure.

**Your responsibilities include**:

- Preparation and analysis of samples for electron microscopy, including image acquisition, processing, and documentation
- Independent planning and performance of laboratory work
- Instruction and guidance of researchers / students during practical work
- General laboratory and core facility organization, maintenance of laboratory equipment

**Your profile**:

- Ideally, you already have several years of experience in the area of electron microscopy, sample preparation and/or ultramicrotomy including serial sectioning
- You have patience for long durations of sectioning
- You are willing to learn and optimize electron microscopy techniques and to pass on your experience to others
- You have a good knowledge of the life sciences and the methods commonly used
- You are a team player, reliable, dedicated and enthusiastic about microscopic analysis and learning new techniques
- You have a good command of English and German
- Experience in (light) microscopic techniques is not mandatory, but a plus
