- Work with highly complex cases in which individuals are severely impacted by moderate to severe psychiatric diagnoses to include factors such as history of trauma, co-occurring conditions and suicide.
- Provide individual, family, and group clinical counseling services using various evidenced based modalities as clinically indicated for adults and children to assist clients to identify and manage personal, psychological and interactive problems.
- Analyze information collected to determine psychiatric diagnosis, treatment plan and/or advisability of counseling or referral to other specialists or institutions.
- Consult reference material to identify symptoms, make diagnoses, and develop therapeutic treatment plans.
- Interact with other professionals to discuss therapy or treatment, new resources or techniques.
- Provide case management services to effectively manage patients enrolled in behavioral intensive outpatient behavioral programs and prevent crises.
- Assess and respond to changing needs of patients based on deployment cycles or critical events.
- Establish and monitor objective behavioral outcome measures.

- Applicants must comply with the Exceptional Family Member Program requirements as outlined in the DoD Instruction 1315.19.
- This position requires Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from, or in accordance with, the American Heart Association (AHA).
- This position requires regular contact with children under the age 18 and a favorable determination of suitability to do so and periodic re-verification check of multiple agency records.
- This position requires the incumbent to successfully complete and maintain credentialing and privileging requirements.
- This position is identified as Mission Essential which may require you to work or remain at work during an emergency situation or when inclement weather has curtailed operations (e.g., threat to the facility, natural disaster, delayed reporting).
- This position may require you to be on-call on a rotational basis, responding to emergency calls at times beyond the normal duty day.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- Work requires lifting and moving moderate to heavy items up to 30 lbs.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Shifts may be rotated on a regularly scheduled basis.
- This position requires Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel approximately 5% of the time away from your permanent duty station.

**Basic Requirement for Social Worker (Clinical)**:
**Degree**: Master's degree (or higher degree) in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
**License**: A current, active, valid, and unrestricted Social Work license from a U.S. State, District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction is required. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
**Specialized Experience**: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Conducting psycho-diagnostic evaluations/assessments; 2) Developing treatment plans and/or recommendations for behavioral health patients; AND 3) Providing individual or group clinical counseling. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone-no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
