In this role, the Director will be responsible to ensure build and develop an effective Service strategy for the Electrolyzer product line to meet continued market expansion in the region. The field service Electrolyzer team will partner closely with the product line, commercial teams, finance, design and services engineering, services operations, customers, and other key stakeholders.

This role is vital to execution and development of a world class workforce in the rapidly growing hydrogen economy, in order to maintaining a strong reputation of Plug Power technology as well as furthering the Company’s reputation as a dedicated service partner to customers.

Core

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop and implement strategic plan for Electrolyzer services in the region
- Enhance and manage process for demand fulfillment, capacity and deploying resources as needed to support all customer activities.
- Maintain ongoing understanding of challenges at customer sites; ensure that appropriate resources, parts, tools and materials allocated within a timely manner to address open items.
- Develop and implement strategies to support business objectives for cost, productivity, and standardization of work practices.
- Establish Key performance indicators, such as utilization metrics, headcount, and attrition to monitor and improve efficiency of Service Operations strategy
- Partner with internal team to develop consistent standard operating processes, establish new tools necessary to improve effectiveness of Electrolyzer service teams.
- Support planning for parts needs and supply chain forecasting.
- Establish key supplier relationships necessary to service support of third party equipment and manage all channel partner activity for aftermarket service.
- Work with Service engineering to define and meet reliability and long term total cost of ownership objectives.
- Support development of necessary data systems, analytics and customer reporting needs.
- Identify technical skill sets needed to service Electrolyzer product line across Plug Power’s geographic regions.
- Foster a culture of safety within organization and role model safe work habits at all times; ensure training and adherence to all customer safety protocol among teams.
- Maintain a forward view toward new markets, anticipate customers and skillset needs to grow capability to serve Hydrogen Economy.
- Regularly engage in communication with leadership, Electrolyzer product teams, and customers to understand their needs; address concerns as needed to help maximize site performance.
- Manage and develop direct reporting and extended organization team toward achieving operational goals and service excellence.
- Develop strong cross-functional relationships with internal colleagues to support seamless communication amongst departments
- Provide effective and ongoing performance management and career path development for the organization.
- Partner with HR & Recruiting in hiring efforts affecting the team; support the proper onboarding and training of new hires to help ensure their success
- Role model for effective communication strategies for direct report team; set high standards of work quality and professionalism
- Represent Plug Power in a professional manner in all interactions; support the philosophy to provide high-performing service to maximize customer satisfaction
- Perform all other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field of study.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in an engineering, field services, services operations, or related field
- Ability to travel as needed to perform the duties of the role, up to 50%

- Experience leading, building and developing a team
- Strong preference for relevant experience in hydrogen or Fuel Cell industry or industrial services.
- Master’s in engineering, business, or related fields
- Demonstrated aptitude for systems thinking and creative problem solving
- Proven ability to successfully develop technical solutions in a variety of environments while taking into account a multitude of constraints
- Computer and software systems skills as applicable to position including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
