PhD position in Cellular Neurobiology (M/F/d): (full time; 3 years) About the PhD project: In this project, you will generate and characterize human brain organoids from male and female donors and analyze their electrophysiological activity using multi-electrode array (MEA) technology. A central goal is to quantify electrophysiological network metrics and connect them to developmental trajectories within the organoids. You will investigate how the factors mentioned above affect early network formation, cellular differentiation, maturation, and functional connectivity in this model system.

- Motivated, reliable scientist with organizational and problem-solving skills
- Communicative, enthusiastic team player
- BSc and MSc in Biology, Neuroscience, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, or related fields
- Hands-on experience in e.g. Cell Culture, Omics approaches or Molecular Biology
- Basic programming skills (e.g., Python or R) or motivation to learn
