We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive Trade Compliance Officer to enhance and develop our global trade compliance program.
This is a role within a lean Ethics & Compliance team, requiring a high degree of self-driven initiative, accountability, and collaboration within the team.
**More tasks and responsibilities**:
- Conduct regular risk reviews to identify and address compliance vulnerabilities
- Stay abreast of evolving trade regulations and adapt the compliance program as needed
- Maintain and develop our automated trade sanctions screening system
- Initiate, develop, and deliver engaging trade compliance training to employees
- Advise and support on export control activities, such as product/technology classification and license management, ensuring adherence to applicable regulations like EAR, EU Dual-Use, EU Military List
- Guide and advise on the establishment and maintenance of secure environments for handling controlled items, including physical security, access controls, and record-keeping
- If needed liaise effectively with government agencies and external advisors on trade compliance matters
Reporting directly to the Head of Ethics & Compliance. The position will be based in one of MacGregor's offices in Helsinki, Turku, Hamburg, Gdansk, Gothenburg or Sofia.
**What you’ll need to succeed**:
Ideally you have
- University degree in law, engineering, international business, or a related field
- Preferably minimum of 3 years of experience, or otherwise demonstrated sufficient experience in a trade compliance role
- Solid knowledge of international trade laws and regulations, including US and EU export controls and sanctions, and preferably customs regulations
- Experience with best practices for handling controlled items is a plus
- Fluent in written and spoken English
