Head Markets Strategy

**THE ROLE & THE TEAM**:
As Head Markets Strategy & Projects (all genders) you will be a leader in the Strategy & Projects team within Zalando's Markets organisation. You will shape the strategic direction across our 25 markets and deliver key projects with a localised and customer-centric mindset, while maintaining high result-orientation. You will closely work with the SVP Markets, country General Managers and other business leaders, acting as thought leader and sparring partner.

- You'll have people management responsibilities for a team of 3 that you support, develop and grow
- You'll develop the 3-5 year strategy across our markets jointly with the Director Strategy & Projects and Markets
- Leadership Team and translate it into actionable business plans
- You'll act as sparring partner to country GMs to deliver on our strategy and business plans and support the execution of key priorities
- You'll Lead complex, cross-functional projects, develop detailed strategic recommendations for senior leadership and execute on them
- You'll build an understanding of the market conditions and customer expectations, as well as the competitive environment in which Zalando operates
- You'll communicate insights and recommendations to key decision-makers at the Director, VP and SVP levels
- You'll act as bar raiser and shape the culture of the Markets Strategy & Projects team

**WE'D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF**:

- Master's Degree in Business, Economics or Engineering or equivalent
- Extensive relevant experience as a consultant in a top tier strategy consulting firm or in a strategy/commercial position in a large corporation, preferably in the ecommerce/fashion/tech environment
- Proven track record of leading & managing a high-performing team in a very dynamic environment
- Action-oriented team player that is highly organised, self-directed and motivated
- Excellent business acumen, eager to learn and quick at grasping new topics and concepts, not shying away from digging deep when needed while remaining focused on the bigger picture
- Track-record of developing action oriented strategies as well as pragmatic execution plans
- Demonstrated capability in managing diverse groups of senior stakeholders and in challenging them on strategic topics
- Passion for ecommerce/fashion/tech, and an understanding of online business models and current industry trends
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral; Business fluent English
