**Your role**
The Director of Global Market Sample Analysis is responsible for leading and developing a high-performing global group of Technologists and GC/MS Analysts focusing on the development of olfactive interpretations of fragrances in consumer market products based on a wide range of analytical methods. This includes the development and continuous refinement of technologies that provide valuable insights into current trends that assist perfumers with client requests, market intelligence, and proactive development.

**Main responsibilities**
- Manage the analysis and interpretation of incoming market products and fragrances by GC/MS or other suitable methods
- Build and manage a team of regional Market Sample Analysis Managers, leading a diverse, cross-disciplinary team of GC/MS-Analysts, Technologists and Laboratory Experts across multiple international locations
- Drive the global harmonization of methods and reports, continuously evolving the high quality of analyses and the group’s evolution towards a stronger olfactive matching
- Work closely with business stakeholders to coordinate priorities for the Business Units Fine Fragrance and Consumer Fragrance
- Lead global projects for the analysis (GC/MS interpretation) and olfactive reconstruction of fragrances in close collaboration Perfumers, Evaluation, and R&D departments to create new fragrance formulas
- Coordinate routine extraction procedures on market products and development of formulas based on analytical data and olfactive tests
- Define standard operating procedures and guidelines for the development of methods for raw materials and products and the use of sample databases
- Ensure laboratory efficiency, safety and maintenance on GC/MS and other equipment, including troubleshooting
- Continuously develop the group’s knowledge of fragrance raw materials and essential oils and ensure regular updates of the raw materials database

**About you**
- Advanced degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline
- At least 10 years of practical experience in analytical techniques such as Gas Chromatography (GC), Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS), Olfactometry (GC-O); direct experience in olfactive matching is highly desirable
- Experience in developing new analytical technologies with GC/MS equipment
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with a track record of building high-performing, multidisciplinary teams across multiple international locations
- Awareness of lab safety and quality management within an international laboratory environment
- Excellent collaboration and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence within a cross-disciplinary business setting
- Strong networking capabilities with key stakeholders in a cross-functional business environment of R&D organization and business units, e.g., in daily business briefings
- Proven agility with the ability to adapt quickly to shifting priorities while maintaining focus on responding to business requests
- Advanced communication skills in written and spoken English; additional language skills are a plus
