Overview
ISS ESG is seeking an experienced corporate governance research and methodology expert to join the Global ESG Methodology team in our Berlin or London location. ESG Methodology is a horizontal function across all ESG research and solution verticals, ensuring high quality and consistency of methodologies, innovative solutions and gold standard in research and resulting signals.
The focus of the role will be to ensure methodological quality, consistency, and further development of the Governance Quality Score (GQS) and to work on the integration of GQS data and scores in other existing ESG solutions, in close cooperation with the respective product and research teams.
Job Responsibilities
- Build-up in-depth knowledge and expertise on corporate governance research including GQS methodology, the EVA framework, as well as a thorough understanding of other ISS ESG solutions, with focus on the ISS ESG Corporate Rating, the ISS ESG Environmental & Social Disclosure QualityScore, and the ESGF Rating;
- Establish deep relationships and partner with all relevant research and product teams to facilitate further integration of methodologies, processes and outputs based on our house view and quality policy;
- Contribute to Thought Leadership projects;
- Propose GQS methodology and quality enhancements and work with the GQS and research teams on priority-setting and implementation.
**Qualifications**:
- 5 years of relevant experience in the area of corporate governance research and related solutions and services for institutional investors;
- Demonstrated financial expertise (e.g., relevant educational or professional experience, certificates);
- Excellent technical (Excel-based) and analytical skills, particularly in the areas of quantitative research, data modelling, analysis and data management;
- Familiarity and/or desire to learn SQL programming and other technical languages (Python, R) desirable;
- Exceptional project management skills;
- Organizational skills, attention to detail, a self-driven work ethic, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment;
- Ability to work within a team-oriented cross-functional environment and communicate with various internal parties; experience working with teams located in multiple cities and countries preferred;
- Strong oral and written communication in English;
- High energy, passion, and drive, with a strong positive outlook.
