A Day in the Life

Under the leadership of DACH leaders, support in-country to promote, enhance and protect the organization’s reputation with relevant audiences. Translates business goals and objectives into impactful and measurable communications strategies and executes end to end plans. Supports local deployment of Western European communications strategies.

Team purpose:
The International Communications Team partner with business and regional Leadership to support business imperatives through creation of impactful and measurable communications strategies; to build trusted partnerships and contribute to initiatives that elevate our brand, secure market leadership and deliver superior revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities:

- Support comprehensive 360 communications strategies initiatives that promote, enhance and protect the organization’s reputation to both internal and external audiences, which may include media, top customers, industry stakeholders as defined.
- Support localization of Corporate campaigns and communications projects with relevant stakeholders within International Comms, OU, and GCCM communications colleagues.
- Develop internal communication strategies to create business literacy, employee engagement, and brand ambassadorship among employees.
- Supports senior leadership in communicating to external and internal audiences.
- Deploy and localize key documents and reports, press releases, interviews, FAQs and other external and internal communications vehicles as defined.
- Support response to local issues and potential threats in business continuity and reputation, in close collaboration with Legal, Regulatory, HR, GCCM and International Communications colleagues when needed.
- Support execution of therapy-specific value proposition initiatives, in collaboration with OUs.
- Work with manager and OUs to determine communications budget and timeline, coordinate communications outputs and deliverables on time and within budget.
- Maintain local media relationships and support dissemination of information and releases.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of the region's unique communication and promotional policies in MDT's strategy to create a public relations strategy that influences public opinion and promotes products, ideas, and services.
- Maintain key internal relationships with SMEs, GCCM and Global Regions Comms partners to inform, gain input, and support decision-making.
- Acquire and maintain a detailed knowledge of the company’s policies, principles, and strategies, and keep up to date with relevant developments.

Required capabilities:

- Excellent written, verbal, copy editing, and presentation skills in local language and English.
- Core business acumen and general understanding of healthcare marketplace.
- Demonstrated ability to work with organizational decision makers (internal/external)
- Experience implementing strategic communications initiatives and campaigns that deliver measurable results; experience managing project timelines and budgets.
- Ability to use tact and professionalism including in times of heightened stress.
- Knowledge and understanding of both traditional and emerging communications channels, including social media and digital platforms.
