Aircraft Mechanic 2 General/rotary Wing

The **Aircraft Mechanic 2** performs the full range of military tactical aircraft maintenance and maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures and structural components of moderate difficulty.
- Remove and install aircraft subsystem assemblies and components such as engines, rotors, transmissions, mechanical flight controls and their components.
- Service and lubricate aircraft and subsystems.
- Safely prepare aircraft for inspections and maintenance checks and services.
- Perform scheduled inspections and assist in performing special inspections.
- Perform limited maintenance operational checks and diagnoses and troubleshoots aircraft systems using special tools and test equipment as required.
- Use and perform operator maintenance on tools, special tools and aircraft ground support equipment.
- Maintain and repair aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.
- Perform other qualified duties as assigned.

**Minimum Requirements**:

- High School Graduate or equivalent is required.
- Shall have Five (5) years of recent applicable aircraft maintenance experience.
- FAA A&P or FCC Elements 1 and 3 required.
- Must possess (FAA) A&P certificate, with at least Two (2) years' aviation maintenance experience, and Two years on the assigned MDS** (UH60, CH47 and/or AH64)**.
- All experience must be within the Five (5) most recent years.
- If no A&P certificate, must possess or being willing to obtain an **FCC License with Elements 1 and 3,** and Must have Three (3) years aviation maintenance experience, Three (3) years rotary wing aircraft experience and Two (2) years minimum on the assigned Mission Design Series **UH60, AH64 and/or CH47** (MDS).
- (If willing and able to obtain an FCC License, please discuss with your Recruiter).
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance, (NACI T1) Public Trust. **US Citizenship** is required to obtain the required NACI Clearance. (Interim NACI approval required for deployment).
- Valid US Passport Required for travel to Germany.

**Germany Specific**:

- TESA Approval: (German Govt) Must be able to qualify for TESA approval; with 5 years career total Aviation maintenance experience in the last 5 years.

Travel: As required in support of task order.

**Knowledge & Skills**
- Possess good communication skills; be adaptable, diversified and capable of troubleshooting entire aircraft system.
- Working knowledge of electrical, electronic, mechanical and associated systems principles to complete properly all probable work task.
- Knowledge of Quality Control, Production and Supply procedures required to perform job assignment.
- Able to determine when faulty systems or assemblies can be corrected through repair of replacement of new parts and the nature and extent of repair required.

**Physical Requirements/Working Environment**
- Must be able to climb, stand, stoop, bend, stretch, crouch and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
- Frequently lift parts and equipment up to 20 pounds.
- Occasionally lift objects up to 50 pounds.
- Must be immediately deployable to potential combat areas worldwide.
