The Chair of Anglophone Literatures in a Global Environment at the Department of English and American Studies seeks to fill the position of a
PhD position (wiss. Mitarbeiter/in) in Global Anglophone Literatures
commencing on 01.04.2025.
We offer a part-time position (50%, 20 hours per week) initially as a fixed-term position until 31.03.2028.
**Your responsibilities**:
- Work on your own scientific qualification project, that is a PhD project in the area of global Anglophone literatures towards a timely completion
- Conduct interdisciplinary research
- Support teaching in the English and American Studies Institute by teaching one seminar a semester
**Your profile**:
- A Master’s degree in Anglophone literatures in English
- A research proposal of 1000 words with a focus on one or more the following areas: environmental humanities, oceanic studies, post-humanist approaches, material cultures, Indigenous literatures, border studies, creative criticism
- Experience or ability in teaching seminars in literary studies at the higher degree level
