We are currently looking for a **Biostatistician (M/F/d).**

The Department of Surgery at the University Medical Center Schleswig-Holstein, Campus Lübeck, is a nationally and internationally renowned center with a high scientific expertise and strong publication record in the field of pancreatic diseases. The research group ‘Interdisciplinary Pancreatology’ led by Dr. Louisa Bolm is focused on clinical, translational and large national and international registry studies and has a high annual publication record. The research group is well-connected and closely collaborates with other institutes and departments on campus such as radiology, translational oncology, and the proteomics laboratory. National and international collaborations involve extensive scientific networks comprising academic institutions focused on pancreatology across Germany, in the US (e.g. Harvard Medical School, Boston; UT Southwestern, Dallas, Cedar Sinai, Los Angeles) and internationally in Europe (e.g. University of Birmingham UK, Humanitas Milano Italy or Karolinska Stockholm Sweden) and abroad. The research focus is set to evaluating body composition and therapy response in periampullary neoplasms and pancreatic diseases. The research group connects AI-based segmentation and radiomics approaches, translational biomarker characterization and large database analyses. The research group is further involved in performing studies based on national and international registry databases such as the German Cancer Registry, the US American National Cancer Database or the European Minimally Invasive Pancreatic Surgery Registry.

**Job description**:

- 100% E 13 TV-L, flexible starting date, limited until December 31st, 2027
- Fully on site or partially remote arrangement possible
- Autonomous leadership of own projects within a highly motivated interdisciplinary team
- Rotations to national and international partner sites possible (e.g. Harvard Medical School, Boston; UT Southwestern, Dallas, Cedar Sinai, Los Angeles, University of Indiana, Indianapolis)
- Family-friendly and flexible working hours

**Requirements**:

- Completed master thesis or PhD in epidemiology, bioinformatics or equivalent studies
- Advanced knowledge of statistical methods (R statistics or SAS), data management and data modeling
- Language proficiency in English
- High motivation for interdisciplinary teamwork with national and international partners
- Optional: Previous experience in the field of pancreatic diseases, radiomics, imaging segmentation
