Das Institut für Medizinische Statistik (Leitung: Prof. Dr. Tim Friede) bietet innerhalb der medizinischen Fakultät und am Göttingen Research Campus (GRC) Beratung und Lehre auf den Gebieten der biometrischen und bioinformatischen Analyse von klinischen und genomischen Daten an und betreibt weiterhin aktiv Forschung auf den Gebieten adaptiver Designs klinischer Studien, Meta-Analyse / Evidenzsynthese und Computational Statistics. Das Institut bietet ein breites Tätigkeitsfeld im Rahmen zahlreicher Kooperationen in verschiedenen klinischen Bereichen und ist über die gemeinsame Arbeitsgruppe „Biometrie, Datenmanagement und Informatik in klinischen Studien“ eng mit dem Studienzentrum UMG und dem Institut für Medizinische Informatik vernetzt.
