Cloud Dba/ Architect for Azure Synapse SQL

Business Intelligence & Big Data (BI&BD) is responsible within Allianz Technology SE to drive the Business Intelligence strategy and to deliver modular and reusable Business Intelligence Solutions to Allianz entities (OE) worldwide, leveraging synergies of skills, scope, and resources. As the BI&BD unit is currently expanding in the Budapest office, you will have the opportunity to work with a highly dynamic, international and rapidly growing team of BI&BD project managers, engineers, developers, and architects. - Design and implement data warehouse solutions based on AWS Redshift and Aurora.
- Work closely with our Service Assurance team and other groups in the organization to make sure that all events, incidents and problems are resolved as per SLA defined.
- Provides technical expertise and coordinates activities of database engineering and database operations team.
- Provides input to development of vision, specifies key performance requirements and defines technical critical success factors.
- Designing, installing, tuning, monitoring, (upgrading, patching,) and troubleshooting AWS Redshift and Aurora databases with large amounts of data (Terabytes)
- Recommend and implement best practices for performance, maintainability and development of AWS Redshift and Aurora databases including partitioning, data distribution and materialized view strategy.
- Capacity planning, SQL analysis, schema revisions, security administration and user account maintenance.
- Plan and execute database migrations and database cloning activities
- Improve efficiency and quality of delivery by automating routine and DBA tasks
- Responsible for 3rd level support
- Collaborate with Allianz Technology DMP team - engineering team for Exadata / Oracle Database / ZFS SA / Change Data Capture

**Requirements**:

- Master’s degree from an accredited university in Business Informatics, Industrial Engineering, Informatics
- Should be an expert in AWS Redshift / Aurora, S3 Storage, Azure Active Directory
- Demonstrable experience in Shell, TSQL and one programming language
- Deep understanding of the AWS infrastructure
- Automation of infrastructure services and experience in CI / CD a must (Git, GitHub, Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins)
- Understanding of IT architectures including High Availability and Disaster Recovery
- Experience working with and troubleshooting of AWS RDBMS
- Experience with databases deployments in cloud
- Ability to define and follow standards
- Conceptual and abstract thinking skills are compulsory
- Process oriented, focused on standardization, attention to detail and streamlining
- Fluent English written and spoken; other language skills are a plus
- Ability to manage high complexity, to work independently, accurately and under time pressure
- Sensitivity to internal and end customer needs
- Good leadership skills to guide and mentor the work of less experienced personnel
