If you want to make a difference and work in an informal, international scale-up environment with future prospects, then read on** Full-time - Cologne **Your role** As a **Health & Safety Specialist**, you will be responsible for improving local health and safety culture for our employees, the public, and contractors, both at our offices and charming locations. You will be part of the international H&S team. Your focus will be on the German-speaking markets. You ensure everyone works safely according to the local rules and regulations applicable across our different entities in these markets. With your expertise and background, you will implement policies, stimulate continuous awareness, and further professionalize health and safety. Both internally and in cooperation with our external stakeholders. Also, as part of your role, you will support (local) management by coordinating activities in case of health and safety incidents. As part of the Risk and Audit team, you will start in our Cologne office, which intends to establish a local presence in German-speaking markets. Going forward, you will support Fastned’s ambition to achieve a health and safety accreditation such as ISO45001. **Your overall responsibilities include** - Assisting Design, Construction, and Field-ops in asserting a safe work environment - Doing regular site inspections - Providing training/toolbox talks - Advising the various stakeholders on best practices - Monitoring changes in legislation - Implementing health & safety policies, procedures, and processes and maintaining health & safety management systems- Monitoring the state of Health & Safety within the organization and give constant nudges toward safe behaviour - Taking Health and Safety to the next level for the whole of Fastned by sharing with the Health & Safety team - Staying updated about the deviations for Fastned/international standards locally - Sharing and implementing best practices - Regularly checking information on incidents, accidents, and near misses **Who we are looking for** Your profile is a brilliant mix & match of the following requirements: - Health & Safety diploma or equivalent Bachelor’s degree preferred; - You have at least 2 years of experience in a health and safety role. Bonus point if you have operated in a construction environment; - Experience in writing, checking, and approving Health & Safety plans; - Have an understanding of OHSAS 18001 or ISO 45001 (occupational health and safety assessment series) or the German equivalent of the same; - EU driver's license and willing and able to travel to locations and offices in several countries; - Strong verbal and written communication skills in German and English; - Ability to effectively interface with different internal and external stakeholders (e.g. government officials, construction managers, maintenance engineers, contractors); - Experience with implementing policies, procedures, and processes, as well as maintaining health & safety management systems; - Being able to manage multiple projects, stimulate awareness and adherence to health and safety policies and standards company-wide; - You are able to make firm and quick decisions depending on the circumstances; - Knowledge of health and safety standards and practices related to construction sites. **Electric mobility is new territory for you?** No problem As part of your onboarding, you will participate in a series of exciting workshops where you will learn everything important about electric driving and fast charging infrastructure.
