Neuroinformatics Specialist

In order to fill a **permanent position in full-time (39.83 hours/week = 100%) at the earliest possible date**, we are looking for 1

**Neuroinformatics Specialist (m/w/d)**:
The advertised position will be responsible for scientific computing (incl. parallel computing), data science, and research data management (RDM). The target group are the research groups working at THINK.

**Your tasks**:

- Advising the target group on methods in the work area and developing concepts for the needs of the target group in the work area
- Acquisition and distribution of information on new methods
- Offering professional development to employees of the target group and training employees of the target group in methods of the work area
- Teaching in the Faculty of Computer Science
- Coordination of HPC users, interface to the HPC team and RDM team at RUB
- Personnel management of the central THINK IT system administrator
- Acquisition of hardware and software
- Financial planning

**Your profile**:

- A completed PhD in a related field of research is expected
- Independence and initiative, very good analytical skills, good sense of priorities, reliability and accuracy, intercultural and communication skills, very high level of responsibility are required
- Confidence in handling various operating systems, software and web services in the work area is required
- Didactic knowledge and experience in academic teaching is required
- Interaction with staff and guests requires a flawless command of the English academic language and basic knowledge of German
- Financial planning requires an overview of complex financial transactions. Knowledge of the state of the art of the technology in the work area is necessary for acquisition processes.

**Further information**:
The position is salaried and based on the collective agreement of the Länder (TV-L). If the personal and collective agreement requirements are met, the employee will receive pay grade E13 TV-L.

The place of work is Ruhr University Bochum.

The load of teaching will be calculated according to - 3 of Lehrverpflichtungsverordnung (state of North Rhine-Westphalia).
