The Data and Analytics division (DAA) drives and coordinates Munich Re’s agenda on data, advanced analytics, machine learning and AI. Our goal is to enable new and better business via data-centric solutions and create new strategic options through data and analytics excellence.

The Data Management & Engineering department in DAA develops technology, capabilities, and processes to create, share, and consume high-quality data assets throughout the entire Munich Re Group. The Augmented Data Management & NLP team works closely together with business units across the globe and throughout the Munich Re Group including ERGO and is responsible for the development of solutions and services related to AI-driven processing of structured, semi-structured and unstructured data.

To accelerate our journey towards data-driven decision-making, we are looking for an experienced data scientist/data engineer with a passion for data, product thinking, and an entrepreneurial mindset to join the team of our modern cloud-native data platform.

**Your job**- Developing scalable, customer-facing and reliable solutions around AI-augmented data management and natural language processing in a cloud-native big data environment- Advising business units in utilising AI driven data management to grow our core business and explore new business models- Thinking from a product perspective, developing a roadmap of capabilities according to stakeholders needs, deciding on what to build and what to buy- Leading agile cross-functional delivery teams in the role of a business product owner- Representing and marketing solutions as well as Munich Re’s data strategy globally within Munich Re and beyond- Collaborating with data scientists, customers, and external partners on analytical use cases and identifying synergies across our solution landscape- Researching and assessing tools from software vendors and the open-source community to complement our existing solution suite

**Your profile**- University degree in computer science, physics, maths, statistics or an equivalent degree- Several years of project experience as a data engineer/data scientist- Deep understanding of machine learning and deep learning techniques as well as its related technology and software- Understanding of modern NLP models, libraries and frameworks- Experience in agile project management and steering of customer-facing AI/NLP solutions at scale- Proficient in Python (or similar) coding- Understanding of the finance industry and the insurance value chain is a plus- Strong written and verbal communication in English, other languages are a plus- Strong presentation, consulting, and project management skills- Working collaboratively and efficiently in an international and interdisciplinary environment- Flexibility and bringing a curious and creative mindset, open to new things and able to propose innovative ideas
