RESPONSIBILITIES AND FUNCTIONS
- Support the development and fulfilment of electrical safety management philosophy, providing sound technical knowledge, promoting a positive safety culture in accordance with regulatory requirements and to the company’s electrical safety rules.
- Define the necessities, improvements and maintenance strategy of the HV/MV/LV electrical systems in the Continental Europe Offshore Hub, to guarantee the highest assets availability, the compliance with the regulatory requirements and the best service quality following the best industry practices and international standards.
- Identify the business technical risks related to the electrical systems condition and propose the necessary actions/plans to mitigate those risks as much as reasonably possible.
- Prepare method statements and implement the required corrective and preventive maintenance activities to maintain/recover the assets availability/reliability either by oneself or through contractors.
- Assess any technical issue related to the electrical systems, performing troubleshooting, carrying out the Root Cause Analysis and proposing/implementing the necessary action to avoid any re-occurrence.
- Deploy the necessary actions to comply with any regulatory requirements that may apply
- Daily coordination and management of related maintenance activities with local Iberdrola technical site teams to guarantee the right execution timescales and works quality as long as the compliance of the applicable H&S rules.
- Extend any lesson learnt and the identified best practices to the others Offshore Hubs.
- Define, alongside the new Offshore projects teams and Electrical Lead, the best technical solutions for the new offshore projects under development and construction to guarantee the best performance and maintainability condition after the Commercial Operation Date starts.
- Coordinate the maintenance strategies for electrical systems with the other Offshore O&M Hubs (UK and USA) so that uniformed, global and standardized solutions are implemented.
- Prepare Scope of Works and Suppliers Technical Evaluations, playing and active role during the procurement processes to make sure that the most technically qualified providers are selected.
- Manage efficiently the maintenance contracts which individual is responsible for, striving to reduce the maintenance costs and contributing to maximize the business EBITDA.
- Interact with the Global Technical Services, Offshore site teams, Original Equipment Manufacturers, grid operators, certification and regulatory bodies as long as it is required.
PROFILE/REQUIREMENTS
Individual with good knowledge and experience of electrical HV/MV/LV operation and maintenance activities and who can act as the main interface between management team and the site teams to provide expert support as agreed and identified.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering as a minimum
- Considerable experience and high skills on operation and maintenance of electrical systems and substations.
- Knowledge in:
- HV/MV/LV GIS and AIS Systems
- Power Transformers and Monitoring Systems
- Protection Relays
- Metering and Power Quality Measurement Devices
- AC/DC UPS and Battery Systems
- AC/DC Distribution Boards and Load Transfer Systems
- Earthing and Lightning Protection Systems
- LV Auxiliary Systems (Lighting, Sockets, Heat Tracing, Navigational Aid Systems)
- Knowledge of the equipment commonly found in Offshore wind projects including the wind turbines
- Ability to understand electrical projects and drawings
- Ability to think logically and be able to assess the risk of carrying out any fault finding, maintenance or upgrades to any electrical system.
- Competent in future planning.
- Experience of contracting, engineering support and maintenance and defining scope of works
- Self-motivation and willingness to learn.
- Competent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to influence and develop key project and business decisions.
- Developed report writing, presentation skills and ability to summarise key parameters and drivers impacting the project and business.
- Good organizational and operational skills with the ability to link this awareness to technical judgement and decision making.
- Good planning and analysis skills with the ability to look forward and anticipate problems and thereafter plan and implements mitigating solutions to negate the effect of such problems.
- IT literate with the ability to operate MS Office systems and other IT based project management software.
- Capacity to work within an international and multicultural team
- Flexible to travel around Europe and overseas
- Languages:
- English: Proficient Level
- Other useful languages: German, French, Spanish
Desirable skills
- Postgraduate experience, preferably in operation of wind farms.
- Experience in the offshore operations sector
- Knowledge of H&S and environmental legislation associated with marine/offshore operations project
