**Position Summary**:
Discovery is looking for a talented and passionate Staff Scientist (M/F/d) to join our dynamic clinical trial team. As a Staff Scientist (M/F/d), you will play a pivotal role discussing and consulting our customer’s needs and managing these needs at our clinical trial laboratory in Kassel, Germany. You will take responsibility over the whole life span of multiple projects interacting with pharma, CROs, hospitals in a very appreciative international setting. Attitude, project and social responsibility are key for this position.

**Position Qualifications (Education, Skills, Experience)**:

- Bachelor´s or Master’s Degree in natural sciences
- ideally first experience in molecular biology, cell biology and histology
- Good basic computer knowledge
- Very good English skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments and resolve complex problems
- Keen attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures

**Key Responsibilities**:
General laboratory tasks:

- Preparation and review of SOP/INS/FORMs
- Working according to GCP guidelines
- Ordering of reagents, lab consumables, devices etc.
- Obtaining price information and calculating test rates
- Record keeping of lab journals

Assistance activities for Head of Lab:

- Evaluation and documentation of results
- Capability planning: management of personnel resources and project timelines
- Assistance in preparation and review of proposals and project plans/SOWs/Analytical Plans
- Scientific assistance (e.g. trouble shooting) for routine and assay validation lab activities
- Maintenance of the Assay Validation Matrix

Process Management:

- Generation and optimization of methods and lab procedures including respective GCLP documentation
- Implementation of quality management requirements and compliance to clinical trial guidelines
- Monitoring of budgets and profit margin at the given
- Supervision and assistance of audits, if required
