Product Design Director, Global Product Strategy

We are looking for a **Director, Product Design (all genders)** to join the **Global Product Strategy** team on our journey to drive the Design strategy and craft for our global business, that is continuously growing within a young industry. We’re just at a starting point, and the person in this role will help shape what the future of our product is.

In this role you will have direct and indirect leadership responsibilities, directly leading 2 sub-teams focussed on consumer UIX and our internal design system. Also a large part of your responsibilities in this role is working on strategic initiatives across our consumer facing platforms, that flow into local strategy, roadmaps, that inform investment decisions and influence our global company strategy.

You have experience in leading successful user-facing product design teams in e-commerce and are ready to step up a level and oversee and harmonise design efforts across 150+ teams within 20 companies spread over 70+ markets around the globe. You’re able to zoom out and understand the helicopter view, but also dive into detail to help our teams further refine their products. You have strong interpersonal skills and are able to get broad support for your ideas.

We’re looking for someone with a great passion for the craft of design in a large scale consumer product environment, possessing very strong communication skills, being level headed and having an unstoppable entrepreneurial drive.

**Your mission**:

- As part of the Global Product Strategy organization you provide design leadership and oversight in collaboration with the local design leaders to set the visual direction and a quality standard for the visual appearance for our products. You provide support and consultation as well as audits with your team that help inspire the wider organisation and improve our products.
- Run large scale global projects with our consumer platforms such as platform redesigns, migrations and new product launches.
- Drive the further optimisation and unification of design for our central tooling and own the design system for non-consumer products.
- Manage and lead a design team of strategic UI/UX designers as well as the team building the design system.
- Continuously improve the design craft, own and further develop the job levels and career framework for design.
- Foster a strong product design identity and engaged community within Delivery Hero and beyond.

**Your heroic skills**:

- Bachelor's degree in design, Human-computer interaction (HCI), Product Design, Communication Design or equivalent professional experience.
- 10+ years experience as a UX Designer, Interaction Designer, Information Architect, or similar UX-related role.
- 5+ years of experience leading teams of senior designers in the creation of consumer facing experiences.
- Proven ability to directly collaborate with cross-functional partners including product managers, developers, and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to understand customer needs, build empathy across your team, and use research in the design process.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Experience presenting ideas to peers, cross-functional partners and senior stakeholders to get shared understanding, alignment and influence decisions making.
- Portfolio of successful leadership initiatives.
- Working knowledge of product design tools such as Figma and Sketch.
