The automotive industry is currently in a state of upheaval. In addition to electromobility, which is currently at the center of attention, further improvements to combustion engines and the development of other technologies such as fuel cells or hydrogen propulsion are being driven forward, all with a focus on minimizing pollutants and CO2 emissions to protect the environment and contribute to the energy transition. IAV's “Cell, Module & Battery Solutions” Development Center works closely with automobile manufacturers in the field of basic research and series development. There is therefore a broad spectrum of topics and methods, from concept development to series production.
Your Tasks:
- You work on internal projects to achieve the desired customer results and identify optimization opportunities.
- You will conduct research on various topics in the field of HV batteries and prepare the findings in writing and/or graphically.
- You will support the maintenance and creation of documents.
Necessary Skills:
- Ongoing studies with a technical / electrotechnical focus
- Confident handling of common IT (MS-Office etc.)
- Independent and self-reliant way of working
- High level of commitment and self-motivation
- German language skills at least C1 level and English language skills at least B2 level
Desired Skills:
- Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills
- Willingness to learn, strong initiative, communication and teamwork skills
- Further language skills (e.g. Portuguese, French, Polish, Indian) welcome
The salary is based on our collective agreement. The current monthly salary for this position is EUR 1,012.

IAV’s largest development center is located in Gifhorn, in close proximity to Volkswagen, our key account customer and shareholder. More than 3,000 development engineers from all disciplines and areas of expertise work here to develop the mobility solutions of the future. The technical infrastructure at this site is also second to none. It extends from our own crash facility via various roller dynamometers, battery and fuel cell test benches, acoustic labs and climate chambers through to the VR Lab for virtual and augmented reality (xReality).
