Joining our Healthcare team is becoming part of a diverse, inclusive and flexible working culture, presenting great opportunities for personal development and career advancement across the globe. **Your Role**: We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Scientist (all genders) with a strong background in in electrophysiology, neuroscience, and In vivo physiology for the development of innovative bioelectronic therapies focused on modulating vagal nerve signaling to treat diseases where patients lack effective treatment options. As part of our Bioelectronics department, you will be responsible for designing and conducting experimental in vivo approaches, supporting the design process for active implants and coordinating In vivo research activities. You will lead a team of experienced technicians and coordinate external activities with our external partners and vendors. Our team is highly cross-functional, and you will work with engineers, physicians, and data scientists to develop next generation medical devices. In close collaboration with the R&D Director you will contribute to the success of our innovative approaches at the frontier of scientific knowledge in bioelectronic medicine at our headquarters in Darmstadt. Come and join us in the exciting journey towards novel medical breakthroughs in bioelectronics. **Who you are**: - Scientist (PhD in the life sciences) with a strong track record (>5 years) of in vivo science - Experience of technical and disciplinary management of R&D teams - Excellent working knowledge of electrophysiology and physiology, anatomy and ideally neuroscience - Good working knowledge in animal science and welfare, including relevant regulatory frameworks - Regulatory clearance for directing experimental studies - Experience with microsurgical procedures is a plus - Understanding translational aspects of therapy development - Effective communication of complex topics - Strong team player; able to work within a highly multidisciplinary environment - A nice-to-have is prior exposure to device development, or medical device design process **What we offer**:We are curious minds that come from a broad range of backgrounds, perspectives, and life experiences.
