**Your Responsibilities**:
**The role**
As **Head of People and Culture (M/F/x)**, you will foster a strong culture that helps our people succeed and thrive, while creating the systems that help us scale exceptional performance. We're looking for somebody with proven success in early
- to mid-stage startups who is excited by the opportunity to flex between strategic and tactical responsibilities on a daily basis. You will work directly with our CEO and leadership team, and over time build a small internal team to bring your vision and recommendations to life.
Above all, you will be responsible for recruiting people that reflect our core values and target behaviors, and continuously aligning team members with these values and behaviors. As part of this role, you will also be responsible for all HR operations, including employee engagement, diversity, equity & inclusion initiatives, performance management tools, compensation and benefits, and talent acquisition.

Leadership - **Partner with business leaders to build and support happy, high-performing teams aligned with the company's business strategy; in close alignment with our Senior HR Strategy consultant, you will create and deliver a complete human resources capability that can scale as the company grows.
- ** Recruitment - **In partnership with other business leaders, design and deploy strategies, tactics, and tools to attract and recruit exceptional talent; Strengthen relationships with third parties that extend Arcensus' reach and access to a diverse and qualified talent pool; and support hiring managers to effectively onboard and integrate new hires
- ** Culture and Employee Engagement - **Support, embody and develop a culture that reinforces our mission and values, sustains morale, encourages feedback and continuous improvement, embraces and is resilient to growth, and attracts incredible new talent; Champion a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace and design and implement practices to support their achievement; in addition create strategies for our growth and continuous improvements.
- ** Human Resources -** Serve as internal HR point of contact for employee relations and appropriately manage and resolve operational HR issues; and evolve and improve Arcensus’ benefits strategies to reflect current market trends and consistency across the organization.
- ** Coaching & Talent Development - **Act as a trusted advisor to senior and junior members of the team to increase team effectiveness; Review and improve performance management approaches to develop and retain existing staff; and create individual (e.g. coaching opportunities and feedback) and group solutions (e.g. training programs) to improve capabilities at all levels of the organization.
**Your Qualifications**:
- 5+ years of experience in Human Resources or People Operations, including experience of payroll, administration tasks & talent acuqisition
- Prefered: You have worked in a medical or biotech environment before and are familiar with the recruiting of scientific talents
- Good knowledge of German labor law
- You have a strong desire to use your skills to have a positive impact on people. With your passion for people you nurture a positive work environment.
- You thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and have an ability to create structure out of ambiguity
- Sophisticated communication and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Fluent in written and spoken German & English
**Please note**: The position must commute between the HQ Rostock and the Berlin location (frequency is negotiable). In addition, remote work is possible.
