This is part of the second funding period of the Collaborative Research Center (CRC1340) "In vivo visualization of extracellular matrix pathologies", a cooperation of the University _Hospital_ Berlin (Charité), Berlin universities and research institutions (BIOQIC). The biomechanical properties of tissues and neuroinflammation will be investigated. In addition, matrix imaging will be used to characterize involved immune cells in more detail and the influence of contrast agents on the phenotype and function of immune cells will be investigated. In animal models only, visualization of the extracellular matrix will be pursued by MRI using specific contrast agents.
