Your Profile
We are looking for an applicant with a university degree in law and a second state examination in law as well as a special aptitude for academic work, which is proven by a corresponding doctorate or doctorate-equivalent achievements. We expect in-depth knowledge and relevant professional and academic experience in the following areas:

- Above-average knowledge and sound academic and practical experience in the fields of public and private construction law
- You can also demonstrate relevant professional experience outside of universities in responsible positions/activities in the field of construction law.
- You will be able to teach Building and Architectural Law in the four Bachelor's and Master's degree programs in the Department of Building & Design. We also expect commitment to the further development of our degree programs, e.g. with regard to interdisciplinary projects in the Department of Building & Design.
- Good networking in the regional construction industry, the regional economy and public institutions is desirable.

We expect the applicant to integrate themselves well into the existing team both professionally and personally, to get involved in the academic self-administration of our university and to enjoy imparting knowledge from their own professional experience to the students.
The university has a large number of collaborations with universities and research institutions such as Max Planck Institutes and Fraunhofer Institutes as well as companies. Intensifying and expanding these collaborations is highly desired.
Active participation in the university’s research activities is desired. In this context, we strive to increase third-party funding and the number of cooperative doctorates.
We advocate a supervision concept that requires a high level of presence of the teaching staff at the university campus.
German language skills (at least level C1) and English language skills are required. Teaching language ist mainly German.
The hiring requirements for professors are regulated in Sec 49 of the Higher Education Act of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate.

This position is available from 01.09.2025 at the Kaiserslautern campus of Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences at the Department Building and Design in part time (50%).
