We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Global Quality Food Expert in Fresh and Ultra Fresh. In this position, you will play a key role in supporting the development and quality assurance of common sourced own brand food products for METRO International. Your responsibilities will extend to providing general product support for the countries in the fresh and ultra-fresh area. This multifaceted role involves actively participating in the development of own brand products, crafting specifications, and closely monitoring the own brand products in collaboration with suppliers, the common sourcing team, own brand team, and METRO countries. Additionally, you will be immersed in various topics related to Ultra Fresh projects, contributing to the overall success of our product portfolio.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Development of products and their specifications for Fresh products in cooperation with suppliers, common sourcing team and own brand team
- Organize monitoring systems (e.g.: laboratory, including sensory, testing, and assessing the results)
- Risk assessment of products and suppliers, including HACCP
- Review and approve label information in CS articles
- Aligning with PC&G team the organization of sensory assessments
- Supplier management including complaint and first point of contact for suppliers and country quality colleagues
- Maintain data on supplier certification, inspections, product specifications and analysis results
- Support complaints and incident management
- Advising procurement on quality-related issues
- Provide training for countries in his/her expertise area
- Work with sustainability, colleagues to ensure the sustainability policies implementation in the OB articles
- Develop and maintain the ultra-fresh supporting documents (product knowledge)
- Managing OB meat training and capacity building for countries
- Monitor the implantation of OB meat standard in the countries and RTO

**Qualifications** What do you bring**:

- You should have a university degree in food chemistry, food technology, veterinary studies, or a related field.
- It is important for you to possess knowledge of the international own brand (OB) trade.
- You should demonstrate good knowledge of HACCP, national, and European food law.
- Proficiency in MS Office is expected from you.
- Your excellent English communication skills are crucial for effective collaboration within the team and across departments.
- You should excel in presentation skills, being able to develop and deliver PowerPoint presentations to senior management and work seamlessly in cross-functional teams.
- The role requires your ability to work with data and statistics.
- You must bring a minimum of 3 years of experience in a job related to fresh/ultra-fresh quality assurance and 1 year experience in retailing.
- Your expertise should extend to knowledge related to developing fresh own brand products.
- You are expected to have knowledge about ultra-fresh/fresh products, including product quality and food safety characteristics, and a solid understanding of EU regulations in this domain.
