At Evotec’s headquarters in Hamburg, Germany, the Data Science team within the
- _Translational Neurosciences _department is seeking a highly motivated and dedicatedGroup Leader (all genders)- Data Science - OMICS Neuroscience- Full time and permanent- to join an interdisciplinary team of neuroscientists, stem cell biologists, bioinformaticians, and chemists in collaborative projects in the field of drug development for neuronal related diseases.- Key responsibilities:
- Lead, manage, and grow a team of data scientists (bioinformaticians, mathematicians, biologists) embedded in the iPSC Neuroscience Department
- Guide the establishment and analysis of patient-derived multi-OMICs data sets to identify novel putative targets, biomarkers to drive patient stratification, and/or strengthen the human disease link
- Promote and guide the use of transcriptomic analysis within the drug discovery process, from assay development throughout hit identification up to lead optimization
- Interact with project teams and mentors to support project and business needs. Establish and maintain collaboration with Bioinformatics Teams across Evotec
- Provide technical knowledge and follow the latest advances in the field, proactively evaluating new technologies, and establishing collaborations where appropriate
- Manage team resources

Qualifications:

- Strong bioinformatic background with proven track record to deliver impactful bioinformatic analysis in an industrial environment
- Strong expertise in single cell/nuclei transcriptomic analysis
- Experience in leading bioinformatic work and impacting different stages of drug discovery and development
- Experience in line management
- Ability to work productively in a matrix team environment and efficiently communicate across discipline boundaries
