**JOB SUMMARY**

As a member of the Business Admin Finance Europe team, the Director Projects will be responsible for delivering all Business Finance & Administration projects, primarily focused on Europe entities, but assisting on mixed deployments involving both entities and hotels. The Director Projects will also be required to define the associated business processes with these projects. She / he will partner with Europe Operations Finance, other members of the Europe Business Finance & Administration team, Marriott’s various HQ departments that interact with Europe finance, entities and/or hotels and Accenture. Projects will be delivered in compliance with both internal and external people, technology, finance and accounting requirements.

The Director Projects will both lead and deliver projects as assigned in areas including, but not limited to:

- Expenses
- General Ledger accounting processes
- Financial Reporting
- Reconciliation Tools
- Treasury/Cash management tools and processes
- Automation of accounting processes
- Development of excel tools to support the Business Finance & Administration function

She / he must be adept at tapping diverse sources of information, identifying profitable opportunities, anticipating challenges and devising and executing breakthrough strategies to deliver against current and future Europe Finance priorities, thereby strengthening Marriott’s competitive advantage through excellence in accounting services delivery. She / he will partner with a professional work team in efforts to develop and implement appropriate accounting transactional tools and processes across hotels and entities, in alignment with the broader financial framework of the continent and enterprise, and in collaboration with other key stakeholder groups.

**EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS**

**_Overall_**
- Following prescribed systems integration methodology, lead efforts to design, develop, test and implement business processes and enabling tools to achieve the business case vision and targeted savings.
- Modify or develop policies and procedures for in scope processes to ensure all assumptions and controls are clearly documented and effectively communicated to the organization for ongoing reliance.
- Ensure adequate documentation of project and deliverables is developed and maintained and provide for sign-off.
- Identify and approve change management activities including but not limited to stakeholder alignment, communications, training, deployment and support.
- Upon implementation and stabilization of the model, ensure adequate knowledge transfer and transition of long term ownership occurs.

**_Financial Leadership: Control appropriate expenses and maximize returns on investments to Marriott and key stakeholders.

- Deploy appropriate tactics to develop and implement required business processes that support the major change initiatives; do so on time and on budget in accordance with the approved business case.
- Oversee assigned project work as well as the specific administration activities associated with operating the projects (project planning, reporting, budgeting, etc.).
- Ensure appropriate metrics are in place to manage business risks and improve decision making; ensure strong accounting and operational control environment to safeguard Marriott International and improve operations.

**CANDIDATE PROFILE**

**_Experience
- **
- Seven+ years of broad financial accounting and reporting experience in a global organization with increasing management responsibility.
- Five+ years in a management role; demonstrated success leading and developing a strong team in a complex, service-intensive, deadline-driven environment preferred.
- Experience in the lodging industry, specifically as a Marriott or Starwood Hotel Director of Finance with experience in two or more Europe hotels strongly preferred.
- Experience leading strategic initiatives and managing associated change a benefit.
- History of consistently delivering business results.

**_Education or Certification
- **
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or Information Systems related discipline strongly preferred.

**_Knowledge and Skills
- **
- Broad knowledge of Marriott hotel accounting and finance processes and systems, especially PeopleSoft Financials.
- Specific knowledge and understanding of entity and hotel processes and requirements.
- Knowledge of generally accepted finance and accounting policies, principles and controls including the Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry
