**Deputy Director, Project Management, Dresden** GlobalFoundries is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Deputy Director of Project Management to oversee the execution of modernization and expansion Projects in Dresden, starting with EVC Modernization project. **Essential Responsibilities**: - Work with Facility team to define the scope of the Project and the key technical indicators that project should fulfill - Lead FEED and then the detailed design of any approved Project, including most efficient execution strategy (value engineer on constructability to ensure reduction of cost and/or schedule) and package strategy (i.e. how to split the scope of the project by different subcontractors) in collaboration with final utilizer (Facility team, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing) - Collaborate with Project Director to validate overall budget and schedule of the Project and act in lieu of Project Director when required - Ensure quality of construction in line with agreed design - Manage design & build contractors in their day-to-day job in the field, ensuring the transparency on the subcontractors performances to be sure that pace of installation, workforce available is in line with plan - Work with design & build partner to implement lean construction methodologies and visual management, especially on time critical packages - Identify in a timely manner any contingency plans in order to overcome issues that can prevent the achievement of construction completion on time - Collaborate with Global EHS department to establish best practice in term of safety, health and environmental procedure during construction - Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs **Required Qualifications**: - B.S. Degree in Engineering or Physical Sciences or a relevant technical discipline. - 10+ years of progressive management experience in mega projects (>500 m USD value), preferably in semiconductor or energy sector, with management role as engineering manager or area manager or construction manager - Experience in working directly with contractors of different discipline (civil, architectural, mechanical, piping, electrical) for large projects in Germany - Demonstrated excellent planning management and analytical skills, and capability of anticipate issues in order to provide precise and prudent reforecast of milestones/ completion dates at package levels - Ability to manage complex projects across multiple disciplines. - Demonstrated negotiation skills, in particular by dealing directly with workers, superintendents and union representatives - Demonstrated ability to communicate well with all levels of the organization particularly in a global environment and experience in working with external constituencies - Strong organizational skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and able to react to shifting priorities to meet business needs - Demonstrated ability to enroll and influence others, leading large-scale construction operations - Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and commitments **Preferred Qualifications**: - Results oriented and focused on quality of work - Excellent structured problem solving - Internation experience in Project outside Germany - Ability to work effectively and efficiently with diverse teams, clients, as well as internal and external partners. - Self-starter and highly motivated to succeed in a fast-paced and challenging professional environment - Details oriented
