**Theoretical Plasma Physics**:
in research and teaching.
Plasma research at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum covers a broad field that includes plasma-astrophysics as well as atomic and molecular physics in the gas phase, at interfaces and especially in plasmas. Existing research collaborations of the faculty in these scientific research areas include the two Collaborative Research Centers (CRCs), funded by the DFG: CRC1491 “Cosmic Interacting Matters - From Source to Signal” and CRC1316 “Transient Atmospheric Plasmas - From Plasmas to Liquids to Solids”. Plasma physics research activities in Bochum are coordinated in the Research Department for Plasmas with Complex Interactions (RD Plasma with Complex Interactions) and in the Ruhr Astroparticle and Plasma Physics Center (RAPP Center).
Teaching is to be provided in theoretical physics, taught in German and English as part of the **compulsory and elective courses** of all programs offered by the faculty.

We expect furthermore:
- A strong commitment to teaching, enthusiasm and didactic skills for the education of international students together with the willingness to supervise Bachelor's and Master's theses;
- the willingness to engage in interdisciplinary, cooperative academic work;
- the willingness and proven ability to acquire externally funded research projects and Commitment to academic self-administration and the willingness to work in other strategically relevant fields of activity such as internationalization, promotion of young academics and public outreach.
