**Duties**: - Operate large, complex riding lawn mower (e.g., multiple and independently controlled cutting decks) and/or specially designed riding mowers to mow in areas requiring attention to space and environment. - Equipment characteristics include single function performance and components that are independently controlled through various hydraulic and/or mechanical devises. - Performs tasks requiring significant manual skill, very heavy physical effort, several steps, phases, and detailed procedures (e.g., prepared ground for sod, and flowers) utilizing a knowledge of project requirements. - Very heavy physical effort is required in operating large, riding mowers on grades and in areas with bushes, trees, and other visible obstacles that require significant maneuvering and level control. **Requirements**: **Conditions of Employment**: - Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required. - Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position. - A one year probationary period may be required. - This position requires a pre-employment physical. Must be able to lift items over 50lbs. - Incumbent may also be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities. Failure to complete the physical and background checks may result in separation. - Works indoors and outdoors. May be exposed to adverse weather conditions when working outdoors. Exposed to drafts, noise, dust, and dirt. **Qualifications**: **QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS**: 1. Demonstrated work experience operating and controlling large, complex riding mowers and similar type mowing equipment in areas that require constant attention to working space and environment (e.g., equipment height and width when working around trees, trenches, large potholes, slopes, curbs, rocks and other visible obstacles) - 2. Operate varies controls and levers to maneuver equipment (e.g., riding mower, hedge trimmer etc.) and change attach devices/ components (e.g. lift/lower, adjust, engage/disengage etc.) as needed. - 3. Interpret instructions and specifications. - 4. Use and maintain tools and equipment. - 5.
