The Hertie School in Berlin prepares exceptional students for leadership positions in government, business, and civil society. The school offers master’s programmes, executive education and doctoral programmes, distinguished by interdisciplinary and practice-oriented teaching, as well as outstanding research. Its extensive international network positions it as an ambassador of good governance, characterised by public debate and engagement. The school was founded in 2003 by the Hertie Foundation, which remains its major funder. The Hertie School is accredited by the state and the German Science Council.
The Hertie School is looking for an
**Associate Student Life (f/m/div) - International Office & Student Life**
on a part-time (30 hours/week) basis.
The contract shall commence as soon as possible and is a maternity replacement for at least one year
Your tasks:
- Student relations and fostering the contact between the students and the department (Hertie Student Representation, student clubs etc.)
- Initiating and organizing student events such as: Welcome Week, De-Stress Fest, community-building events
- Setup and editing the weekly campus newsletter and student events newsletter (Club Blast)
- Maintaining and updating Moodle
- General student (crisis) advising and support
- Internal and external student statistic data management and reporting
Your profile:
- A highly empathetic, open personality, prone to self-sufficient work, hands-on approach, and pro-active service orientation
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills as well as strong intercultural competence
- Reliable and an independent working style
- Accurate & thorough personality traits
- Excellent English and German skills (both native level), additional languages very welcome
- Master’s degree, preferably in the Social Science, Humanities, or related fields
- At least 2 years of work experience, preferably in advising, event management, community relations
- Strong organizational abilities and time management
- Very good MS-Office skills
- Experience with Moodle and/or other LMS/CMS systems will be an asset
