**Your team**
- You will be part of the Newsroom Division in the ECB’s Directorate General Communications. The Directorate General has around 250 staff responsible for the ECB’s external and internal communications. The Newsroom Division is responsible for all media activities, including social media, as well as internal communications.
In your role as Internal Communications and Media Monitoring Specialist, you will be part of our Internal Communications team of approximately ten colleagues who keep ECB staff up to date on various ECB-related and internal topics. We do so by writing, editing and producing content in various formats (e.g. reports, articles, presentations, vlogs and infographics), and by organising a wide range of events. The team also provides communications advice to colleagues across the institution.
- Your primary focus will be on media monitoring and events. You will work closely with other colleagues on these tasks and cooperate with colleagues from other business areas and with external service providers.
**Your role**
- As an Internal Communications and Media Monitoring Specialist you will:

- regularly prepare and present ECB-related and economics news in the daily meetings of the Directorate General;

- coordinate the work of colleagues on media monitoring tasks and design weekly work schedules, as well as coaching and advising colleagues on media monitoring tasks and tools;
- manage the cooperation with external service providers and assist colleagues with copyright management.
- You will also take on broader internal communications tasks, such as:
- designing, coordinating and delivering small and large-scale internal events, in collaboration with other ECB colleagues;
- writing, editing and producing content, including intranet articles, and planning communication campaigns.
The position offers you an excellent opportunity to work with a supportive, diverse team in a fast-paced environment. It will enable you to deepen your knowledge of a broad range of topics - from monetary policy, macroeconomics and banking supervision to European politics and institutions - and to use your language skills. You will be part of a multicultural team that strives for continuous innovation to make a positive impact on the lives of European citizens.
**Qualifications, experience and skills**
- Essential:
- a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in economics, finance, international relations, politics, journalism or another relevant field (see How you can join us for details on degree equivalences);

- excellent communication, public speaking and writing skills, with the ability to make complex concepts easy to understand for the target audience;
- the ability to read complex texts in one or more of the following languages: French, German, Italian and Spanish;
- proven experience in using professional news and market information services (such as Factiva, Bloomberg and Reuters);
- an advanced (C1) command of English and an intermediate (B1) command of at least one other official language of the EU, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Desired:
- a clear understanding of the ECB’s mission, tasks and responsibilities and a good understanding of macroeconomics gained during your studies;
- experience in planning and implementing communication campaigns;
- strong coordination and project management skills that enable you to achieve results and create a strong team spirit.
You engage collaboratively with others. You pursue team goals and learn willingly from other people’s diverse perspectives. You signal any need for change by explaining it and proposing alternative solutions. You analyse complex information effectively and can evaluate different views to arrive at solutions.
