We are looking for a

**Hub Speed Editor, Germany/Austria/Switzerland (f/m/d)**

based in Berlin.

We are seeking an enthusiastic journalist to join the Reuters Hub for Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the nerve center of spot news coverage for the region. In this role, you will focus on getting news to clients at speed, editing copy, monitoring local media and helping to cover breaking news in the Germany/Austria/Switzerland (DACH) region. You will have an opportunity to dive into the thick of the news file and experience many facets of coverage, from Germany’s looming gas crisis and to the Swiss National Bank or heavy-weight companies such as Volkswagen or Credit Suisse, in a fast-paced environment.

Your day-to-day tasks will include helping to coordinate coverage in the DACH region, writing about routine and major events, assigning tasks to reporters, liaising with editors on Reuters’ Global News Desk as well as with bureaus around the world. You will also be involved in projects around how to use different kinds of technology and social media to get news updates quickly and then get the information to our readers. The job requires a combination of quick wits, strong news judgment, and boundless curiosity. Also, you should have a passion for storytelling and a good eye for stories covering all facets of the region’s diverse population and culture.

**About the Role**

As a **Hub Speed Editor, Germany/Austria/Switzerland **you will:

- Fill regular shifts monitoring media and regulatory feeds
- Publishing news on companies, the economy, politics and general news to clients at speed
- Coordinate spot news coverage for DACH bureaus
- Write and edit spot news copy
- Help to cover breaking news
- Liaise with TV and pictures teams to ensure stories are multimedia
- Play a key role in technology-related projects

To be our** Hub Speed Editor, Germany/Austria/Switzerland** you will likely have:

- Fluent English, very strong German skills
- Experience in writing and editing news
- Some experience in German, Austrian or Swiss company news or political coverage is desirable
- The ability to work under pressure and handle a variety of activities simultaneously
- A desire to work as part of a team based on respect, communication and mutual support
- Curiosity about how to make the best use of technology
