By taking a completely new approach to autonomous driving, Vay aims to launch the first driverless fleet on European public streets. Our international, diverse, and fun team combines the best of two worlds - software and product experience from Silicon Valley and automotive hardware & safety engineering from Europe. We have our eyes set on becoming a leading autonomous driving company and bringing Europe back to the forefront of the race to develop driverless vehicles which will solve many of today's transportation challenges, including air pollution, traffic jams, and traffic-related deaths, high costs of transportation and long commutes. This approach and the mix of talent creates a unique and stimulating work environment. **The Role**: Vay is now looking for a Director, Global Head of People, to lead the People and Culture team. In this role, you will be a close partner to the CEO and the founding team. Reporting to the CEO, you will be an integral contributor to the continued growth and success of Vay globally (Europe and the US). **Responsibilities**: - Build out a world-class People function, including; - People Operations, People Development, Compensation, Performance Management, Employee Relations, Well-being, Onboarding and L&D. - Lead and manage the People & Talent Acquisition domain, overseeing all aspects of the People function listed above and implementing the appropriate KPI's to measure the team's effectiveness. - Lead and manage a company-wide Performance Management process alongside the leadership - Define and Implement tracking of organisational health - Define and implement the global people strategy in partnership with the founder team to optimize for personal growth and engagement across both offices - Improve processes to ensure every aspect of the employee lifecycle is optimized while minimizing unnecessary overhead **Requirements**: - You have been a key part of a fast-growing scale-up (>50FTE), and you understand the challenges of a fast-growing company and you understand how to engage teams across multiple countries. - Live in Berlin and must be in the office minimum of 3-days a week - 7-10 years of HR experience - 3-5 years of HR leadership experience and be ready to lead the people & culture function - Proven ability to understand organizational issues and be able to influence key leaders and stakeholders, ideally worked with and reported to Co-Founder-CEO previously - Shown responsibility for workforce and compensation budget and planning, showing strong business and financial acumen - Excellent communication skills and ability to "stand their ground" in English and German - Foremost result-oriented - Able to think strategically and be comfortable abstract thinking - Ability to act as a trusted advisor to leadership **Our values**: We pioneer change: At Vay, we're doing work that has never been done before.
