**Your responsibilities**
This is a new role within Gas Trading. An opportunity has arisen for a high calibre individual to set up and to lead a new systematic trading desk. As head of desk, he/she will hold delegated trading mandates to develop and execute systematic trading strategies to generate PnL. The mandates will cover multiple commodities which are currently being traded within UGC including gas, oil, power, carbon, coal and freight.
This will be an L3 position and the position holder will report to Managing Director Gas Trading.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and develop processes for the systematic trading desk
- Drive innovation and iterative improvement on trading strategies/algorithms to maximise PnL
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders, both within and outside of Gas Trading, on strategy concepts and technical implementation
- Manage a team of systematic traders to develop and execute trading strategies
- Own risk management and construct strategy performance metrics to alert trends and navigate macro event risks
- General management responsibilities
**Your profile**
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in trading or trading related activities in commodities market or other financial markets
- Enjoy connecting trading, quantitative analysis, and technology to unlock new business opportunities
- Experience and track-record in devising and implementing profitable non-discretionary trading strategies. Validate decisions in a data-driven manner and react fast to changing market conditions.
- Demonstrated self-starter, with can-do attitude to learn new thing, empower others and push through change to deliver results
- Advanced coding skills to process and analyze large sets of data. Python is a plus.
