About You

Currently we are looking for an Inhouse Legal Counsel Germany / Unternehmensjurist (m/w/d) to be located in Wiesbaden or Schkopau.

Your responsibilities:

- Ability to effectively handle all matters of inhouse counsel as generalist in an industry environment, including but not limited to business law matters, contracts, antitrust, corporate and commercial law, finance, litigation, public law, including environmental and energy law, and labor law
- Manage and cooperate with external Legal Counsel, where required
- Support and actively engage in any type of litigation
- Represent Dow’s interests in legal committees of various German Industry Associations
- Cooperate and work closely together with presently seven other European Dow lawyers and Dow’s corporate legal department in Midland/Michigan
- Support Dow’s sustainability efforts and actively engage in and contribute to the Dow values like Integrity, Respect for People and Protecting our Planet
- Show flexibility in the workplace and be prepared to travel and to move either within Germany or internationally

Your qualifications:

- Fully qualified lawyer (“Volljurist”), holding above-average German state examinations and preferably additional international education and/or qualifications
- At least 3 to 5 yrs. practical legal experience as Inhouse lawyer in a legal department of an international corporation, ideally in the chemical industry, or as solicitor/attorney in an international law firm

Your skills, knowledge, and abilities:

- Fluent proficiency in English and German language (oral and written), excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
- Self -organized and able to work and prioritize independently, enjoy challenges and work well across cultures and geographies
- Ability to work with both internal and external stakeholders in multinational teams with diverse educational backgrounds and expertise, including with senior government officials, senior lawyers and business representatives
- Team player with a high degree of credibility, personal integrity and high ethical standards,
- Ability to provide advice on complex projects, clearly explain legal risks, develop sound mitigation strategies and find solutions acceptable to internal clients
- Personality with good business acumen and sound judgement, who is flexible and motivated to deliver outcomes, with an ability to adapt and be proactive in an ever-changing internal and external environment
