- Research work within the Heisenberg project „Principles of combinatorial algorithms“ incl. national and international collaboration with scientific colleagues

**Prerequisites**:
- Successfully completed scientific university degree and doctorate in the field of mathematics or computer science. The required qualifications must be available by the recruitment date at the latest.
- In-depth knowledge in one or more of the following areas: discrete mathematics and combinatorics (graph theory, order theory, discrete geometry), discrete optimization, algebra, algorithms
- Relevant publications in international conferences and journals in the area of discrete mathematics and/or theoretical computer science
- Fluency in spoken and written English
- Independent working style and a high degree of self-organization
**Desirable additional qualifications**:
- Programming skills (e.g. C++, Python, Mathematica, Sage or similar)
- Experience in teaching and/or supervision of student projects
- German language skills, or the willingness to acquire them (this is not a mandatory requirement)
