**Introduction**

The Fab1 PLCM D2M Engineer is responsible for the completion of complex, cross-functional activities to support design to mask processes crucial to New Product Introduction (NPI) and GLOBALFOUNDRIES’ global success. The person in this position solves technical problems in the area of design analysis and optimization, reviewing customer design (ORC, DRC) and is responsible for on-time delivery of solutions while satisfying technical requirements for Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Optical Proximity Correction (OPC) software and recipes. The person in this role identifies, aligns and drives resolution of technical issues across multiple organizations.

T he Fab1 PLCM D2M Engineer plans and manages changes in tapeout procedures and recipes (e.g. booleans, keywords) and their verification. This position is part of the Product Life Cycle Management team which interacts with several GLOBALFOUNDRIES’ organizati ons (Design Enablement, Process Integration, Focus Teams, Quality etc.).

**Your Job**

To accomplish this job function this person:

- reviews incoming customer design in DRC and / or ORC and actively follows-up on weakpoints
- analyses design, based on requirements f rom internal customers (Integration, Focus teams etc), also by writing custom layout analysis scripts
- takes responsibility for successfully implementing new requests for keywords and booleans incl. sizing for mask generation inclusive providing specificati on to the OPC/Retargeting team and verification
- tracks and drives resolution of product specific adjustments in TO procedure
- thinks about and articulates issues, identifies problems and initiates actions to address them efficiently
- understands and balances priorities effectively
- communicates and presents status and recommendations for complex issues effectively in the context of their relevance
- optimizes results by managing product introduction schedule and quality trade-offs
- leads a risk management process in the product tapeout phase (e.g. waiver review board, weakpoint board, NPI Design risk Assessment)
- identifies and drives process improvements together with the program manager and other teams

**Required Qualifications**
- B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Solid State Physics or other relevant technical discipline is required
- Strong soft skills, team player
- and project management skills as well as a sense of urgency is required
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are required
- Experience in programming (SVRF, TCL, SQL, Python) and previous exposure to LINUX and layout tools (Calibre, Cadence, Klayout) is a plus
